Lesion Referral Service

We now offer a bulk-billed spot-checking service for individual skin lesions, when referred by your GP. Your problematic lesion will be examined and if necessary biopsied and treated, all at no cost. The purpose is to provide a convenient, high-quality, zero out-of-pocket alternative to both private dermatology and public outpatients such as Eastern Health or Monash Health. If a lesion is too difficult for us to manage, we will generally biopsy it and fast-track a referral to tertiary services via our well-established referral pathways.

Although a referral is not needed to attend Eastern Skin Cancer Clinic, a GP referral IS necessary to be bulk-billed for this particular service. Note that full skin checks are not included in this service – a private fee still applies for these.
